
Blanca Yasmin Peña Ponce was born in Monterrey, México, received a B.A. in International Commerce and Business at Monterrey Tech and has a Master Degree in Corporate Social Responsibility. She began at the private sector, in the field of international business, but later on she found out her real passion: Corporate Social Responsibility.
She developed a Strategic plan for the implementation of CSR initiatives in the Health Sector and coordinated a program in which she was responsible for monitoring and administrating funds to help people that were in need of medical attention and no financial possibilities. She has worked in educational projects promoting capacity building for the Disable (mostly:hearing impaired) in order to provide social integration. She was the POETA Program Coordinator for Monterrey Tech in association with the Trust for the Americas. This was the first Monterrey Tech initiative dedicated to train young leaders with disabilities in ICT’s joining efforts between an academic entity and an International Organization.
Blanca has worked as International Project Coordinator, Consultant, proffessor, researcher, and as Director of the CSR program at Monterrey Tech, in which more than 2,000 executives from 21 countries have been trained in core CSR areas.
During her career, she has been chosen by different organizations such as: the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), FORETICA and EABIS, to participate in Conferences, courses & training sessions related to Corporate Social Responsibility.
She has 9 years of experience in the academic sector as professor and research assistant. Blanca has also developed several e-learning courses, and worked as a CSR Consultant for Companies and Civil Organizations.
Blanca lived in Barcelona (Spain) where she was working in different research projects focused on Corporate Social Responsibility, until she was selected by Atlas Corps as a Fellow to serve an NGO in United States.
She is currenty working in Washington DC.
